So far you have all been very helpful with job news, so helpful I now have my very first AP interview coming up this monday! I wondered if you could give me tips and suggestions regarding the types of questions I might be asked (it would be working with P.Disorders)??

Types of Personality disorders (they are divided into 3 culsters) and which ones you are most likely to see in services (in forensic it will be antisocial and borderline) in adult mental health it will probably be borderline and narccastic.
The development of personality disorders - why do people develop personality disorders.
Why are they so difficult to treat? why are they different to a mental illness (a bit about axis 1 and axis 2 disorders).
Finally how can you treat them? what is the evidence base like for interventions?

Congrats for getting an interview.
I've had two RA interviews and in the first one (Older Adults Service) I was given two scenarios and asked what kinds of tests I would use to investigate x & y. They were fairly straightforward scenarios, one involved using t-tests and the other one using correlations. It was also a very short interview and I was asked only 4 questions!
Be prepared to talk about research you've carried out. For many it's often the final year project/dissertation, so make sure you know that well. An advice for future: it's also important to revise your project for course interviews as well (as I learned this year... ) Then there are the usual questions like why do want to work here, what might you bring to the role etc.
In each RA post I didn't have a lot of knowledge about the area (dementia, PDs) I was going to carry out the research on and I learnt about it while doing the job. This is only my experience though and of course each interview is different.
