Hi Everyone
We're thinking of building a website for the Wessex Group. The current idea is that this forms a part of the SWAP site, so we'd have a page(s) linked from there. This seemed like a good idea to ensure the links with SWAP are maintained and to avoid re-inventing the wheel!
Below are some initial ideas on what to include. I've avoided anything that is repeated a lot on other sites, as it's probably better to just signpost people (e.g. to psyclick). Therefore, the site will hopefully be fairly locality specific.
Could people take a look at the ideas and let me know if they're happy with them and would like to add anything:
Introductory page: To include information about the group, how often we meet, what we do, geographical area it covers, who it comprises, who is welcome etc. Include the contact page link here along with link to the Wessex forum
Links page: To other AP Group websites in the South and immediate relevant sites (e.g. psyclick) but don’t repeat unnecessary links as they’re already contained in other sites. Signpost people there instead. Include a link to the Wessex forum.
Dates page: For previous and imminent meetings with a bit of info about what was covered/discussed/presented. Include a link to the downloads page to access directions to meeting sites and prior presentations/notes.
Downloads page: To include presentation slides, notes from different talks (e.g. the recent Southampton one) and word docs for directions to meeting sites (e.g. Boscombe, Tatchbury).
Contact details page: Include Lee, Tina and Jarna’s names and addresses/emails, the Wessex email, a contact for maintaining website if people spot any problems and information about how to join the distribution list.
Let me know your thoughts
Many thanks
Lee

That sounds a great idea - dont mean to be pushy - but do you know yet when some meetings will be coming up? Would really value meeting up with other assistants. Are you looking for people to do talks? Anything in particular? Maybe then people could ask their supervisors etc or place of work to do a talk? We all must have an interesting position that could be discussed at meetings and things taken form that other assistants would find helpful?

Hi iz,
Unfortunately there aren't any meetings set in stone just yet, but are interested in asking everyone in the group to appoach their supervisors! Anything that is related to psychology would be a good place to start!
Just email us at wessexapgroup@hotmail.com if your supervisor is interested and we can arrange a convenient time, date and place.
Tina

Sorry it's taken me a while to sort out - busy and I'd forgotten my password so I haven't been able to get on and not had a great deal of net access until this morning.
Anyway as you've probably noticed I've finally made Jarna, Lee and Tina moderators of the site and removed myself (can't see them ruling with a reign of terror) but it will now allow you to move threads that might get posted in the wrong place, make important ones a sticky so they don't slide down the page, etc.
